Meet SFG – Nate Hanft
The time has come for another #MeetSFG. This particular segment is very to special to us as we are introducing our third and final financial advisor. Although he doesn’t look old enough to have worked here very long, Nate has been with SFG for the last 15 years (he thought about growing a mustache to show some age but we all know how that worked out for Andy). Other than Andrew, Nate is actually the longest tenured team member of SFG.
Even as a kid, Nate has always had a passion for investing and for the financial industry. In the beginning of his career, starting as a paraplanner, he really enjoyed working through details, analyzing investments/situations, and creating a strategy. However, meeting with people, having conversations and getting to know clients on a personal level, are now his favorite part of the job.
Nate’s daily roles at SFG include spending most of his time meeting and talking with clients – discussing goals, developing plans, reviewing investments, etc., while serving in a lead role overseeing the management of our investment portfolios.
We’re proud that Nate has been with us for so long and we’ve been able to see him grow with the company and grow into an amazing adult(minus the facial hair). We have loved being able to watch Nate become a great husband and a wonderful father. Now, enough about work, let’s show you a little bit of the Nate we’ve known over the last 15+ years.
You’re happiest when…
“I’m with my family. My 16-month old daughter is a miniature version of my wife…they both have me wrapped around their fingers.”
What is it like having Andy once be your soccer coach and now be your boss?
“He still makes me run laps at the start and end of each day!!!! In all seriousness though, I’m very thankful to have had Andy as a soccer coach, and I’m even more thankful to have him as a boss and mentor.”
Is it true that you are an extreme bargain hunter/couponer?
“I wouldn’t say I’m an extreme couponer, but I do like to find a bargain. My father and brother are actually much better at this than I am. They make me look like an amateur.”
What is your favorite Bible verse/quote/motto?
“For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit.”
I Peter 3:18
Best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Well my mother was the one who first told me I should ask out the woman that is now my wife. I would say that was pretty good advice!
