Meet SFG – Katrina Eversole
We are nearing the end of our weekly #MeetSFG installments but we still have two team members we’d like to introduce to you. One of those team members is Katrina. Katrina has been with SFG since January of 2009. Before coming to Serafini Financial, she worked at the Washington County Commission for Aging for 25 years.
Her experience and service in the senior network, her training through Centers for Medicare Services and Maryland Department of Aging, and her overall advocating for seniors equipped her with the knowledge she needs to help our clients nearing or in retirement.
Her daily responsibilities at SFG include helping clients navigate through the maze of Medicare, Medigap, insurance, and prescription drug coverage. Katrina’s vast knowledge on the topics help to simplify and educate our clients to allow them to make choices essential for their retirement.
Katrina has been an integral part of the SFG team when it comes to our clients in retirement or planning for retirement. She is a joy to have around the office and we couldn’t be more thankful that she’s been with us for so long. Now let’s show you a few things about her life outside of SFG.
You’re happiest when…?
“Three things . . . in order of importance:
1) When all 4 grandkids spend the night
2) When decorating the house & cooking for family gatherings
3) When traveling with husband; shopping with friends”
What is the best part of your job?
“When I first started in this field, I had a love of seniors, being fortunate enough to realize grandparents and great-grandparents on both maternal and paternal side. I always helped my grandfather with his “paperwork”! Now that I have become a Medicare-eligible individual myself this year, I have life experience and more in common with my clients!!”
How long have you been married and how did you and your husband meet?
“My husband, Greg, and I have been married for 46 years. I met my husband as a teen at Vacation Bible school at Grace United Methodist Church. I was an assistant teacher of an elementary class; he was attendee, playing baseball on a corner lot nearby. Baseball was his first love!”
Do you enjoy baseball like your husband?
“(I know Andrew is saying to ask these questions and is more interested in Coach!!!) I ENJOY the fact that my husband ENJOYS baseball and the fact that he has made a life-long commitment to not only being a great coach, but also being an upstanding man who not only teaches the game of baseball, but also teaches life lessons to his boys – he has touched many lives as a teacher and coach.”
We heard you recently added a new member to your family that Andy is not too fond of… can you tell us a little bit about your new pet?
“My husband and I have always owned cats – can’t live without them – We now have 3 cats (a new baby Himalayan and 2 adult Maine Coons) – only 1 short of “crazy”!”
What is your favorite Bible verse/quote/motto?
“I have two favorites that have stuck with me throughout the years”
Psalm 51:10 – “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me”
Phil 4:13 – “I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me”
Best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
“Be kind and compassionate – everyone is going through something!”
