    Andrew A. Serafini, CFP®

    Financial Advisor

    A graduate of Shippensburg University in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, Andrew earned a BS in business administration in 1983. Andrew graduated from the College for Financial Planning, becoming a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner in 1994. He has also is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) and graduated from the Municipal Bond School of Chicago.

    Andrew holds FINRA Series 7, 24, and 63 securities registrations as an Investment Adviser Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network®, as well as a life and health insurance license.

    Andrew has been in the financial services industry since 1985. Initially employed with Van Kampen Merritt, a member of Xerox Financial Services, he worked in the portfolio evaluation unit monitoring more than $8 billion of municipal bond trusts. He later joined Butcher & Singer as a registered investment executive. Through extensive training and hands-on experience in the investment banking and brokerage industry, he gained a fundamental understanding of the financial world and an in-depth knowledge of investments.

    Now president of Serafini Financial Group, Andrew is responsible for working with clients who range from individual investors to major corporations.

    Andrew and his wife, Diana, reside in Hagerstown, Maryland, and have four children.

    Douglas K. Nigh, CFP®

    Financial Advisor

    As a financial advisor, Doug strives to help individuals and families bring clarity to their financial picture. Henry Ford once stated that "obstacles are those frightening things you see when you take your eyes off your goal." By applying a planning process founded upon fundamental and time-tested principles, Doug's goal is to help his clients develop and maintain a long-term plan and help them stay focused.

    Doug earned his BS in business administration from Shepherd University in 1994 and spent the next several years establishing a management career within a large financial corporation. In 1999, he left the corporate arena to pursue his career as an independent financial advisor, aiming to help individuals and families prepare for their financial future.

    Doug holds his FINRA Series 6, 7, 63, and 65 securities registrations as an Investment Adviser Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network® and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner.

    Doug's financial planning efforts are fortified by his commitment to providing clients with the utmost in personal and professional service. His desire is that clients share his commitment to developing relationships built upon the traditional values of trust and integrity.

    Doug and his wife, Keleigh, live in Williamsport, Maryland, with their three children: Collin, Grant, and Aiden. They are passionate about being involved in their local church where they enjoy serving in teaching, music, and global missions ministries. In his spare time, Doug enjoys spending quality time together with his family and staying active in sports and music.

    Nathanael D. Hanft, CFP®

    Financial Advisor

    After cashing in a few U.S. savings bonds, Nate placed his first stock trade at the early age of 13. This hobby quickly turned to passion, with many hours devoted to researching stocks and developing a disciplined investment approach.   

    Nate earned his BS in finance from Shippensburg University. His passion became a career when he joined Serafini Financial Group in 2002. Nate is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner. He holds his FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities registrations as an Investment Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network®. He also has his life and health insurance licenses. 

    As a member of the Advisory Team and Investment Committee at Serafini Financial Group, Nate believes it is his responsibility to educate clients and guide them in making prudent financial decisions. He believes this begins by building a personal relationship with each client and taking the time to understand each unique situation. 

    Nate resides in Williamsport Maryland with his wife, Bethany, and daughter, Madelyn. He enjoys spending time with family, sports, reading, and carrying on his grandfather’s love for gardening.

    Cathy Niewiadomsky

    Client Service Manager

    Cathy joined Serafini Financial in April 2007 after serving as the executive assistant to the president/CEO of WVU-Hospitals East in Martinsburg, West Virginia for 13 years. Her experience as liaison between corporate executives, medical staff, hospital staff, and the public has proven to be invaluable to our staff and clients of Serafini Financial. As our client service manager, Cathy uses her extensive customer service experience to ensure that clients receive the highest level of service that our firm—and to which she is personally dedicated to providing. She manages the establishment and maintenance of all client distribution procedures, beneficiary designation and coordination, estate settlement processing, account transfers, etc. 

    Cathy is happily married and blessed with two wonderful children; two stepchildren; and five precious grandchildren. She resides in Martinsburg, West Virginia, with her husband, Hans, and their beloved furry friends. Cathy and her husband are active members of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Williamsport, Maryland. She cherishes family time … especially with those precious grandchildren. Cathy also enjoys cooking, gardening, spending time outdoors, and reading a good book. 

    Melissa Roof

    Client Service Specialist

    Melissa joined the Serafini Financial Group in 2012. With more than 25 years of HR experience in the banking and healthcare industries, she is a valuable addition to our client service team. As a client service specialist, Melissa is meticulous and dedicated to providing our clients with excellent service in a confidential manner. She is a graduate of Hagerstown Community College with an AA degree in business administration.

    Melissa is happily married with two children and resides in Washington County. Away from the office, she spends most of her personal time with extended family and enjoys supporting her kids in their many activities. In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors and horseback riding.

     

     

    Mitch Belella

    Paraplanner

    From the time he graduated high school, Mitch knew what he wanted to do: help people achieve financial independence. After graduating from McDaniel College, earning a BS in business administration, Mitch continued his education by attaining an MBA from Hood College. Along the way, he worked for two large financial corporations before joining the Serafini Financial family in 2014. Mitch holds his FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities registrations as a Registered Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network®.

    Helping people has always been a passion of Mitch’s, and he feels blessed to have the opportunity to apply his knowledge and compassion in effort to assist clients prepare for their financial future. Mitch believes that it is his responsibility to continue to strengthen the bond of our relationship with our clients and their families through an unparalleled level of excellence, trust, and integrity.

    Mitch and his wife, Carissa, live in Hagerstown, Maryland, with their twin boys. In his spare time, Mitch enjoys spending time with his family, playing sports, and watching his favorite teams.

    Lori Borden

    Paraplanner

    Lori joined Serafini Financial Group in 2016 as a paraplanner and is a Registered Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network®.  She has 14 years of experience in financial planning and holds her FINRA Series 6 and 63 securities registrations as well as life, health, property and casualty insurance licenses.  

    Lori graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a dual degree in business and Mathematics. Previously, Lori was in the mortgage industry but ready for a career change.  Having trouble trying to find someone to help her with her investments, she decided to pursue a career in the financial planning field to learn for herself how to manage her finances and prepare for her future.  She discovered a passion not only for managing her own money, but a great desire to help others manage their finances and as well as their investments. Lori loves spending time with family and friends, and enjoys playing volleyball, swimming, skiing, and reading.

    Katrina Eversole

    Senior Advocate, Medigap Agent

    For more than 25 years, Katrina has served the needs of the senior community in Washington County in her role as an advocate with the Washington County Commission on Aging. Her experience there and extensive training from agencies such as the CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) and the Maryland Department of Aging led to her be designated as a supervisor of one of the only personal, one-on-one counseling programs in the U.S. known as SHIP (Senior Health Insurance Program).

    In 2009, she joined Serafini Financial Group to utilize her vast education and counseling experience to help seniors and their families navigate the often confusing landscape of health care. Katrina’s hands-on assistance helps simplify the process of electing and coordinating benefits related to Medicare, supplemental employer group coverage, and Medigap coverage elections, as well as Medicare Part D Prescription Plans. Her experience and qualification as an independent licensed agent in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia allows her to provide solutions for the ever-changing health care needs of today’s senior community.

    Katrina and her husband, Greg, are lifetime residents of Hagerstown. She enjoys family time with their daughters, Julie Thompson and Sommer Kretsinger, and grandkids: Mady, Ryan, Olivia, and Kyle. One of her hobbies is creating photo books that chronicle milestones in her grandchildren’s lives.

    Emily Neumann

    Receptionist / Admin Assistant

    Emily (Emmie) began working at Serafini Financial Group in February 2016 as the full-time administrative receptionist. She is the first voice you will hear on the phone and the first person you will see when you walk in the door. Emily uses her skills in organization, multitasking, and communication to serve the staff and clients of SFG. She enjoys that her position allows her to frequently interact with others and meet their needs.

    Outside of SFG, Emily is a volunteer Young Life leader at Smithsburg High School. In her many relationships with the students there, she is committed to introducing her friends to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith. She applies the same administrative gifts that she uses at work to this ministry. Frequently spending time with teens, communicating updates and events, and helping to organize weekly meetings are among her duties as a leader.

    Smithsburg has been home to Emily for her entire life and she resides there with her family. She spends her free time cooking and baking, hiking, writing, playing piano, and traveling.
