Meet SFG – Lauren Serafini
The time has come for our final installment of #MeetSFG. Today, we get the pleasure to introduce our newest team member, Lauren. She will claim that we saved the best for last but it (mostly) just happened to work itself out this way. It’s not a coincidence that her last name is also Serafini. As many of you know, Lauren is Andrew’s daughter. (And if you didn’t know you could probably tell as they look a lot alike!)
Although she has been involved at SFG for a number of years, from cleaning toilets to interning between semesters of college, Lauren officially joined the team as a paraplanner this past July. She is a recent graduate of Liberty University, where she earned her degree in business administration with a focus in financial planning.
With her degree in financial planning, several summers of intern experience and of course Andrew’s influence, it was only natural for Lauren to call SFG her professional home. As a paraplanner, Lauren loves being able to assist the advisors in creating and implementing a holistic financial plan and working with the team to help prepare and execute the best strategy for each and every client.
You may be wondering, how is Andrew’s youngest child old enough to work with him? Well, Sunday is actually Lauren’s 23rd birthday! Let’s find out some other fun information about Lauren…
You’re happiest when…?
“I am with my family, with my friends, eating hot dogs/cinnamon rolls, or at the beach.”
Because you are the only Serafini child that works at SFG and also referencing Andy’s earlier post, is it true that you are your parent’s favorite kid?
“I am 100% the favorite child, without a doubt… ???? Just kidding! I am the youngest which has given me a special relationship with my parents and all my siblings. I also refer to myself as the Family Fun Event Planner and like to think of myself as the one who brings the people together! In reality though, my siblings are all absolutely wonderful, intelligent, successful, and kind people and I love them a lot so it would be a tough competition! I do get to spend A LOT of time with my dad every day though, which is so much fun! Having the opportunity to work for my dad has been the biggest blessing and I consider myself extremely lucky to have him as a father and a mentor, both at work and at home.”
We have heard your family, friends, and Andy while around the office call you something other than Lauren- what is the story behind the nickname “Ludy?”
“As embarrassing as it may be, Ludy was my imaginary friend growing up. Still to this day, so many people call me variations of Ludy such as “Lu”, “LuLu”, “LuBelle.” I basically will respond to anything that starts with the letter “L”!”
Would you say that attending Kindergarten twice altered or helped your career path?
“It most definitely helped me. I think I can credit all of my success so far in life to my second try at Kindergarten. Also, to set the record straight, I did NOT “fail” Kindergarten. I have a late birthday and went to half-day Kindergarten before attending full-day Kindergarten. My brother has however always told me it was because I couldn’t slide down the slide properly!”
What is your favorite Bible verse?
“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21”
Best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
“These are some of my favorites that I am trying to do a better job of living by: 1. There are no traffic jams on the extra mile.
2. You are never too important to be kind.
3. If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.
4. To be early is to be on time, and to be on time is to be late, and to be late is unacceptable.
5. You don’t have to be sick to get better.”
